Her sister Lynn Jensen was by her side holding her hand as she took her last breath. She lived almost all of her life in her beloved Fort Wayne Indiana. She was born on January 29, 1955 to Dale E. She was preceded in death by her father Dale E. Marquardt; mother Yvonne Marquardt (nee) Noland and her beloved sister Bethann Marquardt.
Shelly loved beauty of any kind and she made it her life’s work to share her talents to make others beautiful. She was truly and artist when it came to manicures and pedicures. She followed her grandmother Irene Hileman, who owned Dove’s Beauty Salon, and learned to truly love those she served. It was said she would always have a funny story to tell and listened intently as her patrons talked. She has been referred to as “Queen of Nails”
She had a inquisitive mind and always jumped from one topic to another studying and sharing her ne found information with those who would listen. Weekly, she would make calls to her sister Lynne with a list of topics and assignments to read an article on wherever her inquiring m,ind was currently working on.
She wil be missed by those who knew and loved her, and her memory will always be carried in our hearts. Shelley believed she was going to another plane of existence. “Death was nothing at all, I have only slipped away into the next room. I am out of sight . I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well”. ….Henry Scott Holland
A memorial service will be held at Lakeside Park and Rose Garden (Pavilion #2) in Fort Wayne Indiana on August 31st 2020 at 11:00 am.
